A little bit about me.
About Berit
My story.
I’m Berit Kavanagh, an authorised Marriage Celebrant local to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. When I’m not cruising around having fun with my beautiful son, I’m likely renovating houses with my husband, catching up with my family and friends, planning our next trip overseas (or hopefully on one), cooking up a storm or walking my feisty dog Bobby.
I’m a people person at heart and thrive in social settings. I love getting to know new people, hearing about their hobbies and interests, but most importantly making connections and getting to know people on a deeper level.
What got me into Celebrancy.
My celebrancy journey started out as I began planning my own wedding in 2018. My husband and I were on the hunt for someone who was young, down to earth, relaxed and mostly just on our wave length. As I got to know a bit more about what a celebrant does, how they connect with their couples and cultivate the perfect ceremonies for their couples, I was instantly drawn in and wanted to learn more!
I went on to complete my studies and was admitted by the Attorney General’s Department as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant in 2021.
Would you like to know more?
Connecting with people is one of my passions, and I’d be more than happy to set up a time where we can get to know each other a little better before talking about your ceremony. Whether we set up a phone call, get together for a coffee or we arrange to meet elsewhere, it’s up to you.
Whilst I am located on the Mornington Peninsula, I travel for Weddings and Marriage Ceremonies to all parts of Victoria including Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, the Bellarine Peninsula, the Dandenong Ranges, Gippsland and Central Victoria.
If you decide you would like me to be your celebrant, I will ask you and your partner a series of questions about how you met, what your relationship means to you and ask you about your dreams and plans for your life together. After this I’ll craft your ceremony from start to finish, ensuring to include all the personal tidbits and nuances you pass on to me that are not only important to you but will also ensure your ceremony unique to you.
I’m available throughout your entire planning process to discuss your ceremony, bounce ideas off or simply ask questions on how ceremonies work. I’m lucky enough to know some pretty amazing local suppliers here on the Mornington Peninsula too, so am able to provide recommendations should you need them.
I’m very lucky to be surrounded by such amazing local photography talent here in Melbourne. Thank you to the below photographers for allowing me to access their work and use their images throughout my website.
